In fact, in this extensive and fragmented area, the distribution channels of different countries are rapidly evolving: the traditional presence of department stores has now been joined by showrooms, multibrand stores, e-commerce platforms and independent boutiques, which are constantly in search of new brands to insert on the market.

At the same time, niche markets are arising with attention to product features, materials, and style and quality.

Thanks to these transformations, small to midsize Italian companies also have a growing number of possibilities in accessing this vast, heterogeneous, and diversified market.

When it comes to ASEAN market penetration strategies, Hong Kong is considered the platform of reference for all these countries: in addition to being recognized as a fashion and lifestyle trendsetter, Hong Kong is also one of the top economic centers of the region, with a zero tariff policy on imported goods, making it a privileged point of entry into the rest of China and the ASEAN markets.

Since September 2017, EMI – Ente Moda Italia has been organizing the participation of Italian companies in the Hong Kong CENTRESTAGE fair, the international platform held once a year in September for select collections of medium/high and high-end clothing, footwear, and accessories, with a contemporary design that combines design, creativity, and quality.
